I walked out in the middle of the Watchtower Study yesterday............

i'm down to 1 meeting per week and that is even becoming difficult to attend.i read blondie's excellent reviews of the weekly watchtower study and that keeps my sanity when reading the weekly study.

yesterday,i walked out in the middle of the study and went home because of some comments that were made after the reading of paragraph 5.here is blondie's study article and one comment that was made at the meeting.. .

clearly, jesus was concerned that his followers too could become distracted by satan's world, even to the point that they might "return to the things behind.

Gumby: We all know you went back for the family.My family and I also went thru 1975.I walked out because it bothered me that these comments were all lies and that the WTS always blames its members for leaving and that "THEY" the members read into things.I went to the bathroom,called my wife{ who is not a Witness }and demanded that she pick me up as soon as possible.I got in the car and told her I was happy that she never believed in the CRAPTOWER.She told me to calm down since I was so riled up.Now,I'm going to get a call from my mom to see why I left early.

Clearly, Jesus was concerned that his followers too could become distracted by Satan's world, even to the point that they might "return to the things behind." (Luke 17:22, 31) And, indeed, this has happened to some Christians. For years such ones longed for the day when Jehovah will put an end to this wicked world. However, when Armageddon did not occur by the time they expected, ` they became disheartened. Their confidence in the nearness of Jehovah's day of judgment faded. They slowed down in the ministry and gradually became so involved in the mundane matters of life that little time was left for spiritual matters. (Luke 8:11, 13, 14) In time, they `returned to the things behind'--how sad!

Here was the comment at my meeting that went something like this:

"In 1914, our brothers and sisters were waiting for the end and never came.In 1975,there were many brothers and sisters that waited for the end and it never came.These brothers became disheartened and left.They went back to this world and never to come back because they loved the things in the world.We need to be patient because the end is near.We don't want to be like these brothers where they ignored all the signs."

The WTS is always blaming the messenger and not the message.These people walked away due to lies and deception by the WTS!!!!! How do they live with themselves?

How much infidelity was there in your congregation?

my congregation had 85 members in the 90's.today, there are only 35 members.i counted 6 divorces that were due to infidelity.all were married in their teens and each married the first person they ever dated.all the men found new girlfriends or remarried and left all the kids and financial burdens on their wives.most of the ex-wives live with their parents and have a hard time remarrying due to lack of men in the kingdom hall.. now,the new thing is for these divorced women finding brothers who were divorced due to infidelity in their marriage and date brothers from out of state.don't you think that by finding a partner who was in the same situation makes it more difficult?

and what guarantee is there that this will work since their first husbands were witnesses?.

The Public Talk yesterday was about nothing......................again!

i try to attend some sunday meetings just to keep peace in my family .but,it is almost unbearable to listen to these public talks.yesterday,the talk was about adam and eve and how they ate the forbidden fruit.how they sinned and now we are all sinners.how they were thrown out of paradise .how the angels came down and had relations with females.that jesus died for our sins.

only jehovah's witnesses who are faithful to the end will inherit paradise earth.the earth will be here to time indefinite.the survivors will never die after the 1000 year reign is over.. how many times have we heard this talk?

how many more times can they pound these talks into everyone's brain?

How many times have we heard this talk? How many more times can they pound these talks into everyone's brain? Does the WTS repeat these talks on purpose because they know its members are brain dead and are satisfied with the spiritual food?

I can't sit thru them any longer and wonder how anybody with a brain doesn't suffer from this repetition.

the walls of the wts are finally being cracked but nobody is breaking down the walls.we have the internet exposing all their lies,elders resigning,no new members beside families being baptized, contributions dwindling,teens leaving in droves,and layoffs at the wts headquarters .still,the walls remain intact.the 800 lbs.

gorilla is missing to break down the wall.. we know in 1975 many members left but the wts wall was easily repaired.who will finally break the walls down and how will it happen?

8) What does this illustration show about the reason why we pray persistently? The man kept asking for bread because he felt that having those loaves in his possession was absolutely necessary to carry out his duty as a host. (Isaiah 58:5-7) Without bread, he would fall short. Comparably, because we realize that having God's spirit is absolutely necessary to carry out our ministry as true Christians, we keep praying to God, asking for that spirit. (Zechariah 4:6) Without it, we will fail. (Matthew 26:41) Do you see the important conclusion that we can draw from this illustration? If we view God's spirit as something we urgently need, we are more likely to persist in asking for it.

How is God's loving spirit shown in the ministry? Passing out pamblets and running away.Small kids handing out magazines without saying a word.Introducing 197 page books that are in a warehouse that need to be sold because of high inventory.Walking like turtles to the next house just to get your 2 hours in.Having the same introduction at every house.Not reading the material yourself.Hoping no one is home so you don't have to talk to the householder.Going on return calls with your friends and then stopping for coffee and drive around so you get your time in.

Yes,God's spirit is working.But not thru the WTS.

Chicago sighting.

i thought it was interesting that the pilots who saw a hovering craft were dismissed as having seen a strange cloud.. this is remarkably similiar to the bibles phraseology of the israelites seeing jehovah in a "thick cloud" etc.. also these pilots work in the clouds day in and day out.

i think they know the difference between a cloud and an object.

If UFO'S exist,why don't they ever crash? They must have some great extraterrestrial engineers.Here on earth we have the best engineers and cars break down,airplanes crash,rockets explode after takeoff and every machine ever invented breaks down.

Did feel that you were at a mental breaking point at the point of leaving?

prior to you leaving the org did you come to the conclusion that if you didnt actually take the step and leave, that you would run into serious mental difficulty.. i really feel that for 5 years proir to my finally leaving i was quite impaired mentally by the teachings and practices of the org.

it was coming to a head though when i finally announced that i was leaving.

i really felt that i was under intense mental pressure and that if i didnt get out then i may end up doing something serious.

What I meant by ''leaving" was quitting the religion not leaving this earth by my own hands. I think the pressure to do more is exhausting.I always thought that the load was supposed to be light AND not burdensome as the WTS make it.Let those who can carry that load remain in and leave the rest of us alone.
